I seem to be stuck on the 8th level of plant 3 with the starfish aliens, I'm able to get to the basement and have the alien kill the guy there, but get stuck after moving one of the boxes up. Is this a bug? or what is the solution?
The one thing that confused me about your comment is the fact that there aren't boxes in that level. If you mean you got stuck because of where an egg got pushed, you should try some other movement patterns for the eggs because the level does have a solution.
I hate to be the one to point this out, but I found a bug in version 1.0!
In level 2-5, you can dig down while you're on the rocky area. The "X" icon appears over the mech but you dig down anyway and can potentially wind up over the bottomless pit unable to dig back up. Or, if you do it in the right place, you can completely trivialize the puzzle -- I got a score of 23 on this level, lmao.
This level also has a bug where if you press B while out of the mech, the "I'll need to use the mech to dig down" message appears, but then you dig down anyway, possibly appearing nowhere near the mech depending on where you were standing.
Congrats on version 1.0, though! I'm having a fun time playing it.
This is still to be determined. We have to weigh the risk of introducing new bugs that are more significant than the ones we fixed since the ones we fixed are pretty minor. I can let you know when I know.
Thanks, I'd appreciate that as I have it pre-ordered! I'd like to play the cart but may go with digital for actually playing depending on the versioning and what's fixed in which. I wasn't sure if the ROM had already been sent off or put on the chips etc.
We have already done an extremely thorough round of testing and bug fixing so I'd be really surprised if there were any serious bugs. We've played through this build many times without issue and have had the help of some incredible testers.
Will a .gb full version release here for sale? I'd love to play this, but I don't have a Game Boy, so I'd like to play it on my Android Game Boy emulator. :B
Not sure what version I installed on my flashcart (6 months ago or so), but it has been one of my favorite homebrews (really one of my favorite GB games including games from back in the day). The art style and gameplay are so different from - but somehow remind me of - the GB's Donkey Kong (the puzzle/platformer where you play as Mario, not Donkey Kong Land).
I must've missed the memo that this was incomplete. I thought the cliff-hangar ending was just that. I am so excited to read these devlogs and see that you're publishing a full-feature game and that we'll have a product to pay for. I'd love to support you all. You are *the* dev dream team for GB homebrew! I am anxious to learn how to make my own games in this medium and both of you are serious inspirations.
Will we be able to purchase the digital version here or will that be exclusively available through LR?
How much longer will the full version be? And considering that there will be a physical cart, I imagine that the digital version will also be paid for, so how much will that be? Thank you.
Hey sorry for the late reply! I would say that the full version has at least 3 times as much content in terms of levels and mechanics and story. There's also multiple endings and a less linear path through the puzzles so it's kind of hard to compare. We haven't decided on the final price yet but we will announce it when we do.

Thanks for the report! We will have this fixed in 1.1
Will physicals have 1.0 or 1.1?

awesome, thanks for uploading the manual!
My pleasure, enjoy!
very nicely done!
Thanks for the video buddy!
Is there going to be a wait before the physical carts go into production in case there are any bugs that need fixing?

Thanks so much for your kind words! We both love Donkey Kong so that's high praise. We will be publishing the digital version here.
