Ngl i spent way too much time just waiting for the opossums to respawn so i could hunt them again..... oddly fun to shoot at those things jumping at you
Would love if you were to add the ability to either peacefuly leave or you and that tall dude purge the town of opossums, would add to the already great game.
Then again maybe I just enjoyed shooting opossums too much
This game has been on my to-play list for a long time and I finally got around to it. This game is a genuine banger and I honestly wish the creator would revisit and prolong the game - I found the story and the art work to perfect for the created atmosphere and it gave me a lot of Waco and Far Cry 5 cult vibes and I was invested in it from the get go.
Would love to see more of this!
As someone who grew up in the rural Deep South, this game resonated with me at a profound level. I love the pixel art, and I love the character portraits, and I love the ending.
Cool short horror story with amazing pixel art, really love the character portraits especially. I'd love to see something like this expanded on, but for what it is it's very cool. I talk a little more in-depth on it in this video
I'm not done playing it but I'm loving this so far. The art, the characters, the plot, and the music are really cool. They go really well together and overall it's a really well made game. I can't wait to finish playing!
With the newly released Analogue Pocket, and the newest update for GB Studios, are you planning to publish the .pocket version of this game? I’d love to be able to play this on my Pocket, so I hope so!
The creators of the pocket want to make that token effort of not being associated with piracy so have taken some minimal steps to make sure that you cannot load roms. But they have also partnered with GB Studio to make a workaround with games created with GB Studio. So here we are.
Unfortunately since this is just a small project I have no plans to port it to the pocket format. If you want to play it on a pocket I think you'll have to get an EZ Flash JR but it sounds like you'd need that anyways.
What you say is true if you make a game with GB Studio 3. It just came out within the last week though. All of the GB Studio games that have been created so far were on version 1 or 2 so the porting would be migrating to the new version which is a pretty big task.
Highlight for me was the creepy character design - from looking at your art it looks like this is your specialty! Overall though, great work from your whole team: music, dialogue, story, art. I replayed to see if I could get a 2nd ending at the end by not shooting, alas no. In round 2 I was speed running and somehow initiated a bug where I teleported behind the log without the chainsaw, and could not progress - not sure if this is something that can be fixed. Anyway, looking forward to more games from you.
I decided to do an abandoned radio tower in this game because it was originally done for a game jam called 'ScreamFM' and the theme was a 'signal' The main inspiration was a radio tower at the edge of the woods that I used to explore when I was a kid. I'm not surprised that old radio towers have been used in other horror games. They are imposing shapes!

Great little game! Thanks for developing it!
Please make a mobile version for Android lol I'd love to play this in my spare time which i don't really have much of
You can actually load up this site and play the web version on your phone! It adds emulator buttons on mobile.
I didn't think it'll turn out to be that horrific but damn, it did.
I'm annoyed that there's no pacifist ending.
I just couldn't think of a way to make that narratively satisfying
is that a vw rabbit / mk1 gol
It's loosely based on one, yeah! :)
10/10
Really good story and I loved the music!
I love Game Boy style horror games. This was an amazing experience. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for playing! I enjoyed your video too.

Thank you!
A fun retro Game Boy style short horror adventure with a nice creepy vibe definitely recommend playing.

nice game with story! :)) the fact that it incorporates a shoot mechanism makes it a bit more engaging! :)

Beautiful ♥️

It's pretty short so you can probably finish it in a single play session. Really glad you like it!
Very interesting and very good game
I finished this, thanks for making it! I would be interested to play more if you ever expanded the story.
Very short and felt shorter because it was very good! I loved the use of splash pages especially.
Thnx...I needed this...like a nice Creepshow/TZ episode.🐾
Great game!
Thank you!
Heh this was silly.
Hello,

I would think for $200 the pocket could run a gb rom? Why does it need a special format?
Piracy
The creators of the pocket want to make that token effort of not being associated with piracy so have taken some minimal steps to make sure that you cannot load roms. But they have also partnered with GB Studio to make a workaround with games created with GB Studio. So here we are.

Is porting required? GBStudio devs said you just need to export for pocket instead of for gb
What you say is true if you make a game with GB Studio 3. It just came out within the last week though. All of the GB Studio games that have been created so far were on version 1 or 2 so the porting would be migrating to the new version which is a pretty big task.
Can you build this for Analogue Pocket?
Nicee Game! Was really fun!!!:)
Hey, I'm looking for a new horror game to play, but I don't do well with jumpscares- does this have any?
Not really... It has some disturbing imagery with music but no sudden loud noises.
HOLY SHIT THIS GAME WAS A BANGER :)))))
Thanks! Glad you liked it.

I've got a few other games here on my itch page if you didnt see them yet. (Various levels of quality, haha) https://benjelter.itch.io/
Glad you liked it! I'll look for the bug you mentioned.
Poggers
So I see why some one said Outlast the comparsion is to the second one with the tower.

Really nice and unique game, you got the inspiration from outlast tho, right?
I've never played outlast. Out of curiosity, what are the similarities?
I love this game, is there a follow up i haven't found yet? If not please make one, or update this game
This is all I've got so far but i am working on another much larger game called 'The Machine' so stay tuned :)
Loved this, feels like Twin Peaks, the GBC game.
